Kyra Pieterse

The Creative Director of Yeah Can is a designer in a league of her own. So we at Team Yeah Can are of course biased. We believe that only the best are allowed onto our team. Kyra has many years of experience. About 14 years by now. First starting off with illustrations for an eLearning site. Then web design, then Flash animations, on to some print and back to web. Her first love. And one where she is happy to stay.

Kyra loves to do paintings as well and mostly works in acrylics. Not a bad hand at handicraft product development either which she got into while volunteering in Vietnam. She’s missing that. The disabled folk at Hope Center, Hue still miss her too. The love is mutual.

Cat lover. Selange has accumulated mega frequent pet flyer miles having left South Africa for Dubai then on to Malaysia and Vietnam and now of course Spain. She’s a seasoned traveler who causes a stir when her travel box (with her inside of course) arrives on the baggage conveyer belt whether in Ho Chi Minh City or Kuala Lumpur. She’s also Yeah Can’s honorary mascot and The Office Cat.

Christiaan Pieterse

Technical Support Manager, Christiaan, makes the idea of service a totally new concept. With an easy going style of chatting to clients, a way with words that demystifies the techie world and endless patients to explain Christiaan is invaluable on Team Yeah Can.

With a very technical background in manufacturing Christiaan only came to web support in a round about way. It started off with a telephone call here, and a bashing of an Internet Service Provider there. In the end he gave up on his other work to join Yeah Can. The creative department is eternally grateful as he handles other hosting providers with patience and good humour.

Christiaan can fix anything. From keeping ancient motor bikes going in Vietnam to repairing electrical and plumbing installations he can keep anything working. And he is especially skilled in keeping the studio running smoothly even when deadlines are looming and stressed creative folk are working long hours to keep clients happy.

Besides this Christiaan is the in-house Mr Green Fingers. His chilli plantation is legendary, even though the garden spot is tiny. Watch this space for more news on his herb and veg growing exploits.

Anja Merret

Client services, marketing strategist, copywriter and administrator are Anja’s main function at Yeah Can. She brings many years experience in marketing and sales to the studio. But mostly her function could be described as acting as a sounding board for ideas from clients and the studio.

Anja loves helping clients with their marketing strategies and is always willing to discuss target markets, visitor profiles, product mix and placement, traffic and search results with anybody interested.

She’s worked in the digital environment in one way or another since mid 1990s. First as marketing and sales person at a private training college offering courses in digital design and then in various design agencies. She loves the possibilities that the internet offers marketers and communicators. Writing on her own blog since 2007 helps her with her copywriting skills.

Besides her passion for all things digital and her Mac gadgets she worked as a VSO volunteer in Vietnam for two years. As business developer she had placements in Hanoi and in Hue at centers offering disabled people vocational training and handicraft production work. Those were two special years.

Now on a full-time basis with Yeah Can she is looking forward to working with some great clients on their exciting projects and helping them get the most benefit from their online presence.

Selange

Our Selange taking a well earned rest after a hard day’s work at the office. Of course it’s also so hot. And all those dogs in the road need to get sorted out and brought to attention. Don’t they know who is boss here? Really? So now they are carrying their dogs past our gate. Spoil sports…

Well traveled both by air and by road, Selange takes all the changes in her stride and has joined her humans Christiaan and Kyra in their seven years, seven cities journey. From Cape Town, to Pretoria, to Dubai, to Kuala Lumpur, to Hue, to Almunecar and now Marbella. But at heart she’s a Jozi girl and knows how to sort out everybody around her. Humans included.
