Hue Help gets help with their mail campaigns

Hue Help an NGO registered in the UK but based in Hue has welcomed their new site built by Yeah Can. Everybody is thrilled with the design and the ease with which the site can be updated by dedicated staff. Their last request was for assistance to set up their Mailchimp account.

Hue Help intended to use their mailing list to publicise their new site. Their mailing list is extensive and they wanted to make contact to show off their new site. Setting up a mail campaign facility with Mailchimp was the best solution.

It’s important that Hue Help’s website has a fair amount of traffic and that the keywords for volunteer in Vietnam move the site to the front page for Google search. The more popular the site becomes the easier it is to create high ranking search words.

Team Yeah Can set up the first email and assisted along the way to make this a smooth running operation. Hue Help will be able to mail out on a regular basis. This first mail will promote the new website but will also campaign for some funding for their swimming project. Hue has a three month period where floods occur regularly. Teaching swimming is vital to keep the youngsters safe and able to cope when high waters take over the city.

Hue Help is certainly providing a great service. Yeah Can is pleased to have been able to help a little towards this worthwhile cause. Well done Hue Help. Check their new site here.

New logo and web design client for Yeah Can

It’s always great to welcome a new client and this time even more so as the relationship goes back many years. Yeah Can’s team has worked with James Helliwell in the past as he is a highly respected SEO expert. Now being instructed to assist with his new web design is a pleasure.

As with all design work before starting on a new web site the logo and Corporate Identify need to be compiled first. At this stage then the Firespin logo is being worked on. There are some great designs to chose from and it will be interesting to see what James will decide his CI should be.

While client is considering his logo Yeah Can is already working on some of the design elements of his new web site. The instructions were for a funky site. So let’s see if Yeah Can can deliver on that request. I’m sure we can…

Yeah Can gets into Interior Design?!

When Yeah Can opened its doors at the end of January 2011 one thing that they never thought they would end up doing was interior design/decoration. This design studio was focused on working in logo, web and graphic design. Interior design. Naah.

Well, it goes to show one should never presume. Because interior design it is at the moment. Having the Hope Center as a pro bona client has meant an adjustment in the thinking of what design is all about.

Not only is team Yeah Can designing the CI, printed material and web presence but the involvement with Hope Center is much more. Street signs were designed. Then input into the uniforms, help with handicraft product design and now the interior design of the new shop.

The retail space was a wreck. To put it mildly. First the floor had to be dug up and new concrete laid. The original idea was to polish the concrete floor, but the expense would need to be delayed.

Then the walls were cleaned and all the holes filled in. And as a further idea team Yeah Can suggested some bamboo for the ceiling and the two side walls. For the main wall a photo collage is planned showing the Hope Center artisans and seamstresses working, pictures of products and celebrations of life.

So far work is going along nicely. If you have a few Dollars spare, do contribute to the new shop campaign by clicking here and your reward will be a wonderful eBook with images of Vietnam. You will want to pack your bags and visit when you look at those photos.

Yeah Can makes life easy for clients with WordPress

Thank goodness for the end of the good old days and welcome to the good new days for web design and small to mid-sized companies who do not have the luxury of an in-house designer. WordPress is here to save them.

Have you been in the situation where your beautiful web site needed an update? You need to introduce a new product, change the details of a staff member, the phone number is different and now you need to instruct your web designer to change all of these details.

Suddenly because it’s a small change your web designer is terribly busy. Or if he or she is ruthless you end up paying a fortune for that small change. And you end up having to wait for a long time before the changes are made.

You remember those days? Terrible. Now all this has changed. Have your site built in WordPress by Yeah Can and you can update your own details in seconds. You can upload your own images, replace copy, update your forms and more. It’s all in your own hands. But the best part is that it is so easy to do. If you have any doubts then Yeah Can can even prepare a short manual so that you know how to go about changing your content.

But it’s really unlikely that you will need to resort to manuals. It is truly easy to update a WordPress site. That is why Yeah Can has decided to focus their attention on this easy to use content management tool. To make their clients happy. And that, after all, is what it’s all about.

What a celebration of THE Wedding in Vietnam

Team Yeah Can abandoned its computers on Friday and headed to the TV. Well, originally it had been thought to plug in the YouTube broadcast from laptop into projector for enjoyment on the big screen.

But there was no commentary on the YouTube Royal Wedding channel, so there went that idea. Although one has to say that the commentary was its normal hilarious self! That is, commentators desperately trying to fill in the gaps with nonsense. Having said that, it makes the whole broadcast even more fun. Alone the gushing whoever who exploded about the gorgeous dress was worth sticking to the small screen for.

It must be said that team Yeah Can was totally divided as to whether THE dress was worthy of the occasion. Surely it wasn’t over the top enough? Oh but wait, an understated elegance could also work. No not at all. After all where was the ‘statement’ that had to be made. The debate raged on. We at Yeah Can are sure we could have done a better job with the outfit. Most definitely.

During the celebration of all things bizarre in terms of hats and funny in terms of the outfits of the British viewers the Huda beer had to be ordered. Yeah Can gets its liquid refreshments from a Karaoke place ten meters away. But the Royal Wedding was so important that an SMS was dispatched ordering fresh supplies and cigarettes. And yip, they were delivered. On the back of a kid’s tricycle. Never say the Vietnamese are not resourceful.

A wonderfully fun and relaxing late afternoon and evening was had by all. Great to have some good news and cheer on the box for a change rather than nuclear fall out and Japanese disasters. Being in Asia it does show up more on TV than in other parts of the world. Not to belittle the extent of disaster the Japanese neighbours have suffered, but it’s great to have something fun to watch for a change. Thanks William and Catherine. You did well.

Word spreads quickly! Once Yeah Can had offered its web design services for free and had uploaded the Hope Center’s new site other non-profits operating in Hue, Vietnam took notice and clambered to get the same help.

Hue Help which works closely with Hope Center by arranging volunteers to teach English at the Center and help with product development asked for help for their site.

Originally it was going to be just some lessons to the Director Graham Buckley in how to work with a content management tool. But it was soon agreed that the original site was not worth saving and that a new one should be built in its place.

Yeah Can saved the content and got to work using WordPress as the preferred content management tool. New designs were approved and the site was built using a fair number of new features.

One of the nice new features is the sophisticated sign in form for people interested in volunteering. Hue Help is all about volunteering and bringing volunteers to help disabled and disadvantaged kids and adults in central Vietnam. But mostly Hue Help serves children.

Yeah Can wishes Hue Help all the very best with their new web site. May they grow from strength to strength and continue offering their important and worthwhile service to the children of Hue.
